In addition to serving as the Home Office for missionaries all over the world, WOM has pioneered a unique approach to evangelism in the Philippines. We are focused on reaching thousands of young people. We have multiple RYAN’S TEAMS going into the public schools with a “Drug Awareness” presentation that points to Jesus as the answer! We have been granted official permission by the government to conduct these outreaches in every school in the Philippines. We have been given EXTREME FAVOR! We combine a professional presentation on the dangers of drugs and alcohol with a clear invitation to receive Jesus Christ. It is nothing short of a miracle to see thousands come to Christ. There are over 7,000 islands in the Philippines so there is a lot of work to be done! In addition, our Ryan’s Teams start Bible Studies in the areas to follow-up the ones who make decisions for Christ. These Bible Studies provide a supportive environment where new believers can grow in their relationship with God. The impact of these initiatives is far-reaching, as many of these young people go on to share their faith with their friends, creating a ripple effect in their communities. Honestly, we are seeing more young people come to Christ with this approach than any other form of outreach. Students are looking for answers.
Why We Do It?
The RYAN’S TEAM CAMPAIGN program was birthed in the heart of our founder (Jason Peebles) after the death of his 19-year-old son, Ryan, in 2004. As Jason worked through the emotional devastation and trauma, the Holy Spirit reminded Jason that Ryan had often said he wanted to be an evangelist when he grew up. The RYAN’S TEAM CAMPAIGN program was developed out of this tragedy and the memories of a son who had accepted Christ and dreamed about evangelism and missions. Ryan was not perfect (none of us are!) – but he had a heart for the Lord. For Jason, this is one way that Ryan’s calling can be partially fulfilled. We do it for one main reason – to bring thousands to Christ and help them walk in God’s plan.
How We Do It?
Many years ago, Jason preached and taught throughout the southern part of the Philippines. Little did he realize that the contacts he made in those early years would end up overseeing a program to win thousands of young people to Christ. His translator during those trips was Lilian Cilican – a dynamic and powerful teacher of God’s Word in her own right. Today, Lilian (and her son and many more team members) are leading the charge with our RYAN’S TEAM CAMPAIGNS. They organize and oversee the teams that go into the schools throughout the Provinces. Each team and campaign requires advanced planning and working closely with local leaders. Without exaggeration, thousands of young people are coming to Christ. There are ongoing expenses for each team, so your support is truly needed. For example, each Team needs a projector, sound system, transportation, and ongoing funding to do the campaigns. Funds are used for equipment and transportation -- as well as various expenses involved in organizing the follow-up Bible Study groups. Like the Apostle Paul’s journeys, these campaigns are truly “frontline” evangelism.

The one speaking is “Lilian” who was Jason’s translator many years ago in outdoor campaigns and leadership conferences. Lillian and her family have been faithful workers for decades. Our Ryan’s Teams will continue long after we have been promoted to heaven.
